For Men To Talk Comes Home to Potton for Party On Potton Community Day

‘For Men To Talk’ will be attending the Party On Potton Community Day on Saturday 29 August 2026, with an information stall where local people can find out more about the organisation and the support it offers to men.

The event will take place at Henry Smith Playing Field, Brookfields, Potton, Bedfordshire, SG19 2TL, starting at 12pm. The event is free to attend and there will be plenty happening throughout the day for people of all ages.

The day will include an interesting vehicle parade, a Kids Zone run by Potton Guides and Brownies, a Potton Fire Station display, Party On Potton’s Dog Show and dog agility.

There will also be local community group stalls, human football, Wipeout, inflatable axe-throwing, Wrecking Ball and a miniature railway.

Visitors can enjoy live music, while a licensed bar, BBQ and other food stalls will provide refreshments throughout the day.

For ‘For Men To Talk’ CEO and founder Luke Newman, the event has an extra special meaning because Potton is his home town. Luke said “Potton is my home town, so being able to bring ‘For Men To Talk’ to Party On Potton Community Day is something I am really looking forward to. We want local men to know that they do not have to struggle on their own. Our information stall will give people the opportunity to find out what we do, meet members of the team and learn how they can get involved. Community events like this are important because they bring people together. Sometimes a simple conversation can be the first step towards someone getting the support they need.”

‘For Men To Talk’ is a peer support group for men experiencing mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression and grief. It provides a safe and comfortable environment where men can talk about whatever is on their mind.

Conversations can cover many parts of life, including work, relationships, anxiety, family and everyday challenges.

There are no rules about how much someone has to say. Men can talk as much as they want or simply listen. There is no registration, referral or cost required to attend.

The organisation offers physical, virtual, walking, fishing and social meetings across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, including Potton, Ampthill, Biggleswade, Sandy, St Neots, Gamlingay and Hitchin.

There is also ‘For Men To Talk about Autism’, a dedicated group for autistic men, men with autistic family members, or those waiting for a diagnosis.

The ‘For Men To Talk Social Club’ provides an opportunity for men to spend time together without the focus being on difficult conversations, with monthly trips to places such as restaurants, cinemas and comedy clubs.

The organisation will also shortly launch the ‘For Men To Talk Shed’, a hands-on workshop where men can take part in practical and creative activities while building confidence and community.
