For Men To Talk to Raise Awareness at Local Co-op and Tesco Stores

General News, News & Events

‘For Men To Talk’ will be raising awareness of men’s mental health at three local stores over the coming weeks, giving people the opportunity to find out more about the support available across Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas.

  • The first awareness event will take place at Co-op in Stotfold on Wednesday 30 September 2026 from 12pm until 3pm.
  • This will be followed by an event at Tesco in Sandy on Saturday 3 October 2026 from 9am.
  • The third event will take place at Co-op in Shefford on Wednesday 7 October 2026 from 11am until 1pm.

Representatives from ‘For Men To Talk’ will be available to speak with members of the public, answer questions and provide information about the various groups and activities now offered by the Community Interest Company.

‘For Men To Talk’ is a peer support group for men experiencing mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression and grief. The meetings provide a safe and comfortable environment where men can talk openly with others who may be facing similar challenges.

Conversations can cover many aspects of life, including work, relationships, anxiety, family life and other personal experiences. There are no rules or regulations, no registration or referral is required, and men can share as much or as little as they wish.

Since launching, ‘For Men To Talk’ has continued to grow and now offers a range of ways for men to connect. These include physical meetings, virtual meetings, walking groups, social activities and fishing sessions.

The organisation also runs ‘For Men To Talk’ about Autism, a dedicated group for autistic men, men who have autistic family members, and those who are currently waiting for a diagnosis. The group provides a welcoming and inclusive space where people can share experiences and support one another.

‘For Men To Talk’ Social Club offers something slightly different. Built around the motto, “time together, not tough conversations”, it provides opportunities for men to enjoy social outings and make connections through shared experiences. Recent trips have included visits to restaurants, cinemas and comedy clubs.

Another exciting development is the upcoming launch of the ‘For Men To Talk’ Shed. The project will provide a hands-on workshop environment where men can take part in practical and creative activities while building confidence, learning new skills and developing friendships within their community.

Luke Newman, CEO and founder of ‘For Men To Talk’, said: “We want people to know that support is available in many different ways. While social media and websites are useful, they do not reach everyone. By attending local community events, we can speak to people face-to-face, answer questions and help more men discover the support that could make a real difference in their lives.”
