Corporate Social Responsibility

Could your business use its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme to support men’s mental health? Does your business have a Corporate Social Responsibility strategy? Could supporting ‘For Men To Talk’ become part of your company’s commitment to supporting your local community and making a positive difference to men’s mental health?

We are asking businesses to consider using their CSR programmes to support ‘For Men To Talk’, helping us continue to provide opportunities for men to come together, talk, connect and build confidence in a safe and comfortable environment.

What is Corporate Social Responsibility?

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a business model that encourages companies to take responsibility for their impact on society, the environment and their stakeholders, rather than focusing solely on making a profit.

CSR can include philanthropy, community investment, volunteering, employee engagement and making responsible financial decisions that contribute to positive social and environmental outcomes.

For businesses, a strong CSR programme can help build a positive brand image, strengthen relationships with customers and communities, improve employee morale and demonstrate that the company is committed to making a difference beyond its commercial activities.

Why support men’s mental health?

Men can experience mental health difficulties including anxiety, depression and grief, but may find it difficult to talk about how they are feeling.

‘For Men To Talk’ provides an opportunity for men to come together and talk in a safe and comfortable environment.

Our peer support meetings allow men to choose how much they want to say, or how little. There is no registration or referral required, and our meetings provide an opportunity to connect with other men who may have experienced similar challenges.

Conversations can cover many aspects of life, including work, relationships, anxiety, family, grief and everyday experiences.

About For Men To Talk

‘For Men To Talk is a Community Interest Company (CIC), company number 12788063.’

We are not a charity. We are a community interest company established to create positive social impact through peer support and community activities for men.

Since launching, For Men To Talk has continued to grow and now offers a range of activities, including:

  • ‘Physical Meetings’: Regular face-to-face peer support meetings where men can meet others and talk in a safe and comfortable environment.
  • ‘Virtual Meetings’: Online meetings providing men with an opportunity to connect from wherever they are.
  • ‘Walking Meetings’: Walking groups combining social connection, physical activity and the opportunity to talk.
  • ‘Fishing Meetings’: Relaxed fishing sessions providing another way for men to spend time together and connect.
  • ‘For Men To Talk about Autism’: A dedicated group for autistic men, men with autistic family members, or men waiting for an autism diagnosis. It provides a safe and inclusive space to connect and share experiences around autism.
  • ‘For Men To Talk Social Club’: Our Social Club is about ‘time together, not tough conversations’. Monthly activities give men the opportunity to socialise and enjoy experiences such as restaurants, cinemas, comedy clubs and other activities.
  • ‘For Men To Talk Shed’: Our upcoming Shed will provide a hands-on, creative workshop environment where men can take part in practical activities, learn new skills, build confidence and develop connections within their community.

Your contribution could help us continue providing opportunities for men to meet, connect and participate in activities that can make a positive difference to their lives.
