(A poem inspired by Aretha Franklin song titles)

There’s a Chain of Fools wrapped around your mind,
Tightening, pulling, making it hard to unwind.
But you know, deep down, you’ve got to say I Will Survive,
To break free, to heal, and feel truly alive.

Think about your worth, your power, your truth,
Don’t let the world strip you of your youth.
Even when it’s hard, and you feel you can’t cope,
Hold on, brother, there’s always A Deeper Love and hope.

When the pressure’s heavy and you’re feeling alone,
Remember, Youre All I Need to Get By—you’re not on your own.
Speak your heart, don’t let it stay a Silent Cry,
Do Right Woman, Do Right Man, no need to live a lie.

With each step forward, embrace the Freeway of Love,
Open up, rise up—let your voice soar above.
You deserve Respect, you deserve peace,
And in the journey of healing, let your burdens cease.

Though storms may come and Rock Steady your days,
You’ll find strength in the most unexpected ways.
So take it easy, give yourself some grace,
Your mental health matters—this is your sacred space.
