Information Evening Announced for the New ‘For Men To Talk Shed’ in Stotfold

‘For Men To Talk’ is inviting local men, volunteers and supporters to an information evening to help shape an exciting new community project.
The event will take place at ‘The Stag Pub, Stotfold’, on Thursday 6 August 2026 at 8:30pm, where people can learn more about the planned ‘For Men To Talk Shed’ and share their ideas before it opens.
The evening is open to anyone who would like to get involved. Whether you enjoy woodworking, fixing bikes, helping others, or simply want to support the local community, everyone is welcome.
The ‘For Men To Talk Shed’ will be a practical workshop where men can work together on hands-on projects in a friendly and supportive environment. It is designed to give men the chance to learn new skills, share knowledge, meet new people, and enjoy the satisfaction of creating something useful.
Projects could include building furniture, making bird boxes, repairing and restoring bicycles, and working on other community-focused activities. Men of all skill levels will be welcome. Some may have years of experience with tools, while others may be trying something new for the very first time.
The Shed is not about being an expert. It is about working alongside others, building confidence, and creating a place where men feel connected to their community.
Completed projects may also be sold at local events and open days. Money raised will help support the long-term future of the ‘For Men To Talk Shed’ and the wider work of the Community Interest Company (CIC). It will also give participants a real sense of pride in seeing their work valued by others.
The workshop will include workbenches, tools, safety equipment and secure storage for ongoing projects. Volunteers and experienced facilitators will help guide activities, making sure the space is welcoming, safe and enjoyable.
Future sessions could include woodworking projects, DIY furniture, wildlife habitat builds such as bird boxes, bicycle repairs, seasonal craft activities, planter boxes and many other ideas suggested by those who attend.
The information evening is an important opportunity for local people to help shape the project from the beginning. ‘For Men To Talk’ wants to hear what activities people would like to see, what skills they could share, and how they would like the Shed to develop.
Volunteers are also needed. Whether you can give a few hours each month, teach a practical skill, help organise events, or support fundraising, your contribution could make a real difference.
Luke Newman, CEO and founder of ‘For Men To Talk’, said: The ‘For Men To Talk Shed’ is about bringing men together through practical activities that create purpose, confidence and community. You don’t need experience or special skills—just a willingness to get involved. We want local people to help shape this project so it becomes a place everyone can be proud of.”
If you would like to find out more, have ideas to share, or volunteer your time, come along to the information evening at The Stag Pub, Stotfold, on Thursday 6 August 2026 at 8:30pm. Together, we can build something that benefits both the people taking part and the wider community.
