The Weight I Carry

General News, Music, News & Events, Poetry

(A poem inspired by Ariana Grande song titles)

In the dangerous man I hide,
Wearing my pain, broken Side to Side.
I keep my silence, play it cool,
But inside I’m drowning, breaking the rule.

They say, Be a man, Just Focus through,
But No Tears Left to Cry isn’t always true.
Bottling up what I can’t explain,
In the middle of sunshine, I feel the rain.

Through every storm, I push away,
Hoping God Is a Woman will show me the way.
But in this Honeymoon Avenue of fear,
I’m still waiting for someone to hear.

I’m tired of wearing this tough guy mask,
But in this world, vulnerability’s a heavy task.
So here I stand, still fighting strong,
Hoping I can find where I truly belong.

One day, I’ll scream, let it all be said,
No more whispering in my head.
Until then, I’ll walk this lonely track,
Dreaming of the moment I can Break Free and never look back
