Reflections of a Man

(A poem inspired by Carly Simon song titles)
Anticipation of a heavy heart,
Coming Around Again, but feeling torn apart.
In the Night Owl hours, doubts start to creep,
That’s the Way I’ve Always Heard It Should Be, secrets I keep.
Boys in the Trees, they hide their pain,
Underneath the laughter, there’s too much rain.
Nobody Does It Better, but who’s keeping score?
In the We Have No Secrets, we long for something more.
You’re So Vain, that voice in his head,
Echoes of worry, feeling misled.
Yet in every struggle, there’s a Song for My Father,
A journey to healing, each step makes us stronger.
The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of, we seek the light,
With Let the River Run, we’ll find our might.
In the silence and whispers, let’s take a stand,
Every Breath You Take, we’ll heal hand in hand.
