Confessions of a Man

(A poem inspired by Usher song titles)

I’ve got my Confessions,
Trying to be strong, but I’m Caught Up in pain.
On the surface, you see U Got It Bad,
But deep inside, it’s hard to explain.

I smile like it’s Nice & Slow,
But anxiety hits me like Yeah!
I put on a brave face for the world,
Though inside, I’m not always there.

You Make Me Wanna hide my tears,
My Way has been tough for a while,
But I’m learning to let go of the fear,
And reclaim my heart with a smile.

It’s time for men to say, Here I Stand,
No more pretending we’re made of steel,
We can break down and still be strong,
Burn the stigma, let’s begin to heal.
