JVS from BBC Three Counties helps ‘The Mental Health Moles’

General News, Radio, The Mental Health Moles

One year ago, I designed and wrote a book called ‘The Mental Health Moles‘. It’s filled with the moles having discussions with advice about mental health topics. I designed it so that it is suitable for men, women, boys and girls and all the profits goes to ‘For Men To Talk‘.

After self-publishing the book, I then placed it on a website, which allows the book to be read digitally. However, a few weeks ago, I went to see how the book was performing online and it had disappeared. So I contacted the website.

The website emailed me back, claiming that I had multiple accounts, which I don’t, and that they have terminated one of those accounts previously due to violations of their Content Guidelines. On that basis they had taken my book down.

I asked for proof, but they refused to do that and announced that in no way can I try and resell the book on their platform.

This meant that ‘For Men To Talk’, that the book is raising money for, is losing out and all the marketing, both digitally and in print form, that I had done was now useless.

BBC Three Counties Radio is the BBC’s local radio station serving the counties of Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. It broadcasts on FM, DAB, digital TV and via BBC Sounds from studios at Grove Park in Dunstable.

One of the main presenters for many years has been Jonathan Vernon-Smith, better knows as JVS. A silver winner at the Sony Radio Academy Awards 2013 for ‘Best Speech Programme’, JVS is a feisty, straight talking, popular radio presenter who’s not afraid to speak his own mind and with the help of his team fights for their listeners consumer rights.

JVS is a consumer champion. During his show he battles with companies to make them address the poor customer service and treatment his listeners have received.

With the issue of ‘The Mental Health Moles’ book no longer available to be read digitally and with no evidence on the website’s decision, I decided to contact Jonathan Vernon-Smith to see if him and his team could help. Listen to this clip to hear the result.
