Support ‘For Men To Talk’ through the Co-op Local Community Fund

Since October 2025, ‘For Men To Talk’ has been part of the Co-op Local Community Fund, helping to raise money to support men’s mental health across the communities we serve.
So far, 748 Co-op Members have chosen to support ‘For Men To Talk’. Every member who selects our cause helps increase the amount of funding we receive. The more people who choose us, the more support we can provide to men who need a safe place to talk.
The Co-op Local Community Fund supports projects that matter to local people across the UK. Every year, Co-op works with thousands of community groups and charities to help them raise vital funds. Since 2016, Co-op has shared more than £108 million with nearly 40,000 community projects.
When people become Co-op Members, they can choose a local cause that is important to them. A share of the fund then goes towards supporting that chosen project, helping organisations like ‘For Men To Talk’ continue making a difference.
‘For Men To Talk’ is a community interest company that provides peer support groups for men experiencing mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, and other difficulties. The meetings offer a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment where men can talk openly about what is happening in their lives.
Conversations often include topics such as work, relationships, family life, stress, anxiety, and many other issues. There are no rules, no referrals, and no registration process. Men can share as much or as little as they wish.
Over the years, ‘For Men To Talk’ has continued to grow and now offers physical meetings, virtual meetings, walking groups, social events, and fishing sessions. Meetings currently take place in Ampthill, Biggleswade, Potton and Sandy in Bedfordshire; St Neots and Gamlingay in Cambridgeshire; Hitchin in Hertfordshire; and Stockport in Cheshire.
The organisation has also developed specialist support through ‘For Men To Talk about Autism’. This dedicated group supports autistic men, men with autistic family members, and those waiting for an autism diagnosis. It provides a safe and understanding space where experiences can be shared without judgement.
For those looking to build friendships and enjoy social activities, the ‘For Men To Talk Social Club’ organises regular outings to places such as restaurants, cinemas, and comedy clubs. These events focus on spending time together and creating connections in a relaxed setting.
Looking ahead, ‘For Men To Talk’ will soon launch the ‘For Men To Talk Shed’. This new project will provide a hands-on workshop environment where men can take part in practical and creative activities while building confidence, learning new skills, and strengthening community connections.
Luke Newman, CEO of ‘For Men To Talk’, said: “Every Co-op Member who chooses to support ‘For Men To Talk’ helps us reach more men who may be struggling in silence. The funding allows us to continue growing our services, creating safe spaces for conversation, connection and support.”
