The ‘For Men To Talk’ Biggleswade meetings are three years old today

Biggleswade, General News, Meetings, News & Events

My name is Luke Newman and I am the founder and director of ‘For Men To Talk’. Today marks the three-year anniversary of our very first meeting, held at Jones’ Cafe in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.I wanted to take this moment to express my gratitude to the men for their attendance at our Biggleswade men’s peer support group which started at Jones’ Cafe and continues at The Crown Hotel (Wetherspoons). Their presence and willingness to engage with one another and sharing their experiences are what makes this group so meaningful and impactful.

I know that it can be challenging to open up and share personal experiences and emotions, especially in a group setting. But it’s also important to remember that this group was created where men can come together and be heard.

It can take time and trust to build the courage to share, but the rewards of doing so are invaluable. Many men have found that speaking about their struggles and hearing from others who have faced similar experiences has helped them to feel less alone, validated and empowered.

Having a safe, comfortable and supportive space to discuss our challenges and emotions can be life-changing. The mens participation is an important step towards healing, growth and building meaningful connections with others.

I want to emphasise that men don’t have to go through anything alone and by being at our meetings and participating in the group, they are taking a positive step towards growth and healing. If at any point anyone feels uncomfortable or needs a break from our meetings, it’s okay to take a step back and come back when you’re ready.

I am honoured to be the founder, director and facilitator of this group and to witness the positive impact it has on each of attendees lives. Thank you again to everyone for being a part of this community and for your unwavering commitment to self-improve and help others.
