‘For Men To Talk’, a peer support group aimed at fostering open conversations and mental health support among men, opened the door to its seventh physical group meeting in the town of Potton, Bedfordshire.

The meeting took place on the evening of Tuesday 12 September 2023 at the Rising Sun pub. The decision to launch the Potton group comes in response to a request from Greensands Medical Centre as they could see the growing demand for male supportive spaces in the town.

“I went to the inaugural meeting in Potton, it was good to meet some different people and be able to talk freely,” said one attendee. “I do intend to attend future meetings for further conversations.”

With this expansion, ‘For Men To Talk’ aims to provide a safe and welcoming space for men in Potton to come together and engage in meaningful discussions. This follows the success of existing meetings in Sandy, Gamlingay, Biggleswade, St Neots, Bedford, and Stockport.

Luke Newman, the founder of ‘For Men To Talk’, expressed his delight from the first meeting, saying, “Our Potton facilitator, Martin, confirmed that there were many honest and open conversations regarding men’s mental health. This is why I launched this company in 2019, to provide the opportunities for these kind of discussions.”

‘For Men To Talk’ is committed to addressing the mental health challenges that many men face and breaking down the barriers preventing them from seeking support. The group believes that facilitating open dialogues among men can create a supportive environment that encourages emotional expression and well-being.

‘For Men To Talk’ extends an open invitation to all men in Potton and surrounding areas to join the next meeting on Tuesday 10 October 2023 at 6pm. Whether one seeks support or simply wishes to engage in meaningful conversations, the group welcomes men from all walks of life.
