General News, News & Events

The Millbrook Golf Club is proud to announce its partnership with ‘For Men To Talk,’ a men’s peer support initiative, as one of the chosen causes for the year starting in March 2024. Committed to promoting mental health awareness, the Millbrook Golf Club aims to not only support mental health but also to support the cause by fundraisers.

‘For Men To Talk’ is dedicated to encourage open dialogue among men, providing a safe and supportive environment for sharing experiences, challenges, and triumphs related to mental health. By aligning with this cause, the Millbrook Golf Club demonstrates its commitment to breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health issues and supporting initiatives that promote overall well-being.

The golf club will also be supporting Chums. A mental health and emotional wellbeing service supporting children, young people and their families.

“At the Millbrook, we believe in the power of community and the positive impact that open conversations can have, especially on mental health. By partnering with ‘For Men To Talk’ and ‘Chums’ we aim to support these causes that create spaces where our people of all ages can connect, share, and support each other in their mental health journeys,” said Simon Gaulton, captain for 2024, at the Millbrook Golf Club.

Throughout the year, the Millbrook Golf Club will actively promote ‘For Men To Talk’ and ‘Chums’ during various fundraising events and activities, encouraging participation and engagement from its members. Representatives will also be available on some the events to raise awareness and provide information.

“We are excited about the partnership with the Millbrook Golf Club and appreciate their commitment to prioritising mental health. ‘For Men To Talk’ believes in the strength of community connections, and together with Millbrook Golf Club, we hope to create a positive impact on the lives of many men,” said Luke Newman, founder of ‘For Men To Talk’.

The Millbrook Golf Club encourages its members, guests, and the wider community to join hands in supporting these meaningful causes and breaking the silence surrounding mental health. By teeing off this initiative in March 2024, the Millbrook Golf Club aspires to contribute to the ongoing conversation around mental health and make a lasting difference to the lives of many.
