‘For Men To Talk’ presentation at local Rotary Club
On World Rotary Club Day, ‘For Men To Talk’ founder, Luke Newman, looks back at when he was invited to the Sandy Rotary Club to give a presentation about the mens mental health peer support group.
The Rotary Clubs of Britain are a group of local clubs that are part of Rotary International, a global organisation dedicated to promoting humanitarian causes, advancing goodwill and peace and improving the lives of people in need. Rotary Clubs in Britain undertake a wide range of activities, including fundraising, community service and social events.
There are over 1,800 Rotary Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland, with more than 50,000 members. These clubs are made up of community leaders, professionals, and business people who come together to provide service to their local communities and support international projects.
The Sandy Rotary Club members were very interested in how ‘For Men To Talk’ is making a positive impact in the local towns, villages and beyond, providing a safe and comfortable environment for men to be able to talk about their mental health.
“I grew up in Sandy and only moved out of the town when I was 21 years old”, said Luke. “Sandy is a big part of who I am and I am so proud to be able to show my achievements and future goals with ‘For Men To Talk’ to the local Rotary Club.”
“We were delighted to welcome Luke to Sandy Rotary Club”, said Patrick MacCulloch, Event & Speaker Organiser. “It’s great to hear what he has established . It is one of those groups that we feel we could support by promoting within and outside the Rotary Club.”
After the presentation, Luke welcomed many questions with the Club members. He has been invited back in the near future, to help build a relationship and potential partnership for future projects.
