‘For Men To Talk’ celebrates over £820 raised through Co-op Local Community Fund in Gamlingay
‘For Men To Talk,’ a local men’s peer support group is thrilled to announce that it has successfully raised a total of £822.79 through the generous contributions of Co-op members and customers in Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire.
The funding was accrued between 22 October 2023 and 23 January 2024, as Co-op members actively chose to support ‘For Men To Talk’ during this period. Additionally, a share of the funding comes from Co-op members in the local community who have not yet selected a cause.
Luke Newman, founder of ‘For Men To Talk,’ expressed his gratitude, stating, “We are truly grateful for the support from the Co-op members and customers in Gamlingay. This funding will significantly contribute to our mission of providing crucial peer support for men dealing with anxiety, depression, and grief.”
Effective 24 January 2024, Co-op members will no longer receive rewards for Co-op product and service purchases. Instead, they will enjoy savings through Member Prices across Food, Insurance, Funeral care, and Legal Services, offering immediate value to help manage household costs.
As part of the Co-op’s £4 million UK-wide funding initiative, an additional £2,075.89 is available to be shared between ‘For Men To Talk’ and another local cause in Gamlingay. The more Co-op members choose ‘For Men To Talk’ by 19 October 2024, the greater the funding the organisation will receive.
The £822.79 raised thus far will play a crucial role in sustaining ‘For Men To Talk’ and its commitment to aiding men in their struggles with anxiety, depression, and grief. The funds will enable the group to continue fostering a supportive environment where men can connect and share their experiences.
