Our event will be led by a fully qualified facilitator and Level 2 angling coach, who has over 20 years of experience in angling and supporting individuals with mental health challenges. The facilitator is also equipped with up-to-date first aid training, safeguarding knowledge, and has undergone thorough DBS checks. ‘For Men To Talk’ offers a safe and welcoming environment for men to share their experiences and support each other. Past participants have found immense value in the combination of engaging in an outdoor activity and having the opportunity to talk with others who understand their struggles. Here are some reflections from previous attendees:
“I went to the last one and really enjoyed meeting and chatting with some new people. My 2 carp were an added bonus.”
“Was a good day with good people.”
“I thought beforehand, how can fishing help, but actually being outside talking about nonsense took my mind off things. So all in all, a great opportunity for me to try a new activity/hobby I would not try otherwise.”
“Fishing takes my mind away from all my issues. I enjoy the conversation we all have and have learnt from others’ coping techniques. My problems/issues aren’t just exclusive to me; other men have suffered the same problems. I have learnt coping mechanisms from various men in this group. Without you guys, I don’t know where I would be.”
Join us for an afternoon of fishing, conversation, and camaraderie. Experience the therapeutic benefits of being outdoors and connecting with others who understand what you’re going through.
