Luke Newman, the founder of ‘For Men To Talk’, attended the prestigious Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce SME Bedfordshire Business Awards 2024 on Thursday 4 July 2024. The event recognised the outstanding achievements of local businesses, with ‘For Men To Talk’ being honoured as a finalist in the highly competitive Community Business of the Year category.

‘For Men To Talk’ is a pioneering men’s peer support group that offers a variety of meetings including physical, virtual, walking, and fishing sessions. This initiative provides a vital space for men suffering from anxiety, depression, and grief to connect and share their experiences with fellow sufferers, fostering a supportive community.

The Community Business of the Year category, which ‘For Men To Talk’ was a finalist in, celebrates both Community Businesses and Not for Profit Organisations that are dedicated to positively impacting society. These organisations reinvest all their profits back into the local area or towards fulfilling their charitable objectives.

This year’s awards saw a record number of submissions, highlighting the growing dedication to community-focused initiatives within Bedfordshire. With the stiff competition, ‘For Men To Talk’ did not win the award.

Reflecting on the recognition, Luke Newman stated, “Being a finalist among such incredible community-focused organisations is an honour in itself. Our mission at ‘For Men To Talk’ is to create a safe and supportive environment for men to express their feelings and find solace in shared experiences. I am immensely proud of the progress we’ve made since our inception in December 2019 and remain committed to making a positive impact on the lives of men in our community.”
