‘For Men To Talk’ founder is supporting the children of Kenya for the tenth time… and needs your help

General News, Kenya, News & Events

Luke Newman, the founder of ‘For Men To Talk,’ is preparing for a significant journey in May 2025. He will be heading back to one of the poorest suburbs in Nakuru, Kenya for his tenth humanitarian trip. Luke’s mission? To help five struggling schools and provide hundreds of children with the support they desperately need.

These children lack basic resources, and their schools are in dire need of attention. What they crave most is time, care, and an opportunity for a better education. Luke plans to assist in many ways. He will teach the students, help develop better teaching methods and curriculum, and support the school’s feeding program. He’ll also be involved in constructing new classrooms, ensuring these children have a safe and conducive space to learn.

During his last trip in May 2024, Luke achieved something remarkable. A double-story classroom, which had been in the works for three trips, was finally completed. The team plastered the walls, inside and out, and then painted the classrooms and windows. The result was a refreshed, vibrant space where children could feel excited to learn. This project was a standout success and a testament to Luke’s dedication.

As Luke prepares for his 2025 return, he needs to raise over £2500. This money will fund the trip and go directly towards helping the schools in Kenya. A small portion of the funds will also support the Derby County Community Trust, which helps run a Disability Program. This program provides inclusive sessions for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities across Derbyshire.

Luke’s work is impactful and continues to make a difference, not just in Kenya but also in Derbyshire. His humanitarian efforts inspire many, and his commitment to helping children in need is truly admirable.
