Monthly peer support for men at the Gamlingay Eco Hub continues in 2025

Gamlingay, General News, Meetings, News & Events

In 2025, ‘For Men To Talk’ will continue to hold monthly meetings at the Gamlingay Eco Hub. This marks the third year that men in Gamlingay and nearby areas have had access to a safe and supportive space to discuss their mental health.

Luke Newman, the founder of ‘For Men To Talk’, shared his thoughts on the group’s impact:
“These meetings offer a lifeline for men struggling with anxiety, depression, and grief. It’s about creating a space where men can feel heard and supported by others who understand.”

What Is ‘For Men To Talk’?

‘For Men To Talk’ is a peer support group that brings men together to share experiences and discuss mental health challenges. It’s a confidential and relaxed environment, helping participants open up and feel less isolated.

Whether someone is dealing with grief, stress, or simply needs a listening ear, the group provides a welcoming atmosphere. Meetings are in-person, offering a sense of connection that can be hard to achieve elsewhere.

About the Gamlingay Eco Hub

The Gamlingay Eco Hub is the perfect setting for these gatherings. Built in 2012, the Hub is an environmentally sustainable community centre designed to serve Gamlingay and surrounding areas. It operates as a non-profit charity, run by a team of eight volunteer trustees and supported by five part-time staff.

The Eco Hub is more than just a building—it represents the community’s commitment to inclusivity, sustainability, and well-being. Its design maximises natural light, uses renewable energy sources like ground-source heat and solar power, and maintains a low carbon footprint.

Why It Matters

Men’s mental health remains an important topic, with many still reluctant to seek help. Peer support groups like ‘For Men To Talk’ play a critical role in changing this narrative.

By meeting in a space as welcoming as the Gamlingay Eco Hub, men are encouraged to come together, break the stigma surrounding mental health, and prioritise their well-being.

Join the Conversation

Monthly meetings at the Gamlingay Eco Hub are open to all men who want to share their experiences or simply listen. It’s not about offering professional therapy but about creating connections that inspire healing.

As Luke Newman says, “Talking can be the first step toward feeling better. Sometimes, that’s all it takes to start the journey.”
