‘For Men to Talk – Sandy’ monthly meetings continue at The Roundabout Club in 2025

General News, Meetings, News & Events, Sandy

For the third consecutive year, ‘For Men To Talk’ will hold monthly meetings at The Roundabout Club in Sandy, Bedfordshire, in 2025. This men’s peer support group provides a safe, comfortable space for men dealing with anxiety, depression, or grief to share their feelings and connect with others who understand.

A Safe Space to Open Up

Talking about mental health can be tough, especially for men. Many feel pressure to stay silent about their struggles, but ‘For Men To Talk’ challenges this stigma. The group encourages men to express their emotions, share their stories, and find strength in support.

Luke Newman, founder of ‘For Men To Talk,’ explains:
“Sometimes, just saying what’s on your mind can make all the difference. These meetings remind men they’re not alone.”

The monthly sessions at The Roundabout Club are in-person, fostering genuine connection and trust among attendees. The group’s open discussions have helped countless men find relief and clarity in their mental health journeys.

A Venue with History

The Roundabout Club has an incredible history as part of the community. Originally built as Sandy Town Hall in 1906, the building has served many roles over the years. It was once a hospital during World War I and later became a cinema, hosting silent films accompanied by live music. After a fire in 1948 and a cinema revival in the 1950s, the venue eventually transitioned to its current form as The Roundabout Club in 1981.

This rich history makes it a fitting location for the ‘For Men To Talk’ meetings. A place that has brought people together for over a century now continues its legacy by supporting men’s mental health.

Why Peer Support Matters

Peer support groups like ‘For Men To Talk’ are essential. Men who attend these meetings benefit from:

  • Shared Understanding: Speaking with others who face similar struggles fosters a sense of belonging.
  • Reduced Stigma: Breaking the silence about mental health helps men feel more comfortable seeking help.
  • Practical Advice: Members often share strategies that have helped them cope, providing valuable tools for others.

Whether you’ve attended before or are considering joining for the first time, these sessions welcome all men who need a space to talk and be heard.
