When Doves Cry

General News, Music, News & Events

(A poem inspired by Prince song titles)

In the mirror, I see The Beautiful Ones
But deep down, I’m just A Man out of touch.
Sometimes It Snows In April, cold inside,
Even when the sun shines, I feel the divide.

I Would Die 4 U—if you only knew
The weight I carry, the battles I’ve been through.
But like a silent Purple Rain, I hide my tears,
Facing the pain, conquering my fears.

I need a moment, a space to be free,
No more trying to live in Controversy.
Though I walk through life with Diamonds and Pearls,
Inside I’m torn, lost in different worlds.

Let’s Go Crazy, let’s break these chains,
Let me speak my truth without the shame.
In this world of pressure, I’ll find my light—
Like 1999, I’ll dance through the night.

The Most Beautiful Girl In The World may never see,
But I’ll keep fighting for the man I can be.
I’m more than my silence, more than my strife,
I’m Sign o’ the Times, I’m the pulse of life.

Through the storm, I rise, through Mountains I climb,
I’ll stand tall in my truth, no longer confined.
With each step forward, I’ll take back my soul—
From When Doves Cry to becoming whole.
