Launching ‘For Men To Talk – Biggleswade: Good Morning’

‘For Men To Talk’ is proud to announce the launch of its first weekday morning meeting, ‘For Men To Talk – Biggleswade: Good Morning.’ This new session will take place at The BIGG Theatre in Biggleswade on the second and fourth Thursday of every month, from 10:30am to 12:00pm.
This is a significant step for our men’s peer support group. Over the last five years, we’ve offered various types of meetings—physical, walking, virtual, and even fishing—in towns across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Cheshire, and Hampshire. Until now, all of these meetings have been held in the evenings or on weekends. The introduction of a weekday morning meeting opens up new opportunities for men who may not have been able to attend previously.
Luke Newman, the founder of ‘For Men To Talk,’ shares why this change is so important:
“Men need options when it comes to their mental health. Not everyone can attend an evening meeting, and this is a chance for us to help more men when they need it the most.”
Supporting Men’s Mental Health
‘For Men To Talk’ is a safe space for men suffering from anxiety, depression, and grief to connect with others who truly understand their struggles. The group provides a supportive environment where attendees can share their thoughts, listen to others, and feel less alone in their journey.
For many men, finding the time or courage to seek help can be challenging. By offering this weekday morning option, we hope to reach men with different schedules, such as shift workers, retirees, or stay-at-home dads.
A Warm, Welcoming Venue
The BIGG Theatre, a newly transformed community arts hub, will host these meetings. Once a tired chain restaurant, the venue has been turned into a vibrant space for live entertainment, creativity, and connection.
The BIGG Theatre features a foyer coffee shop and bar, open five days a week, serving specialty coffee, locally sourced cakes, and craft beers. Its gallery wall showcases the work of local artists, creating an inspiring and relaxing atmosphere. Centrally located in Biggleswade, this venue is perfect for our new morning meetings.
Why These Meetings Matter
Mental health challenges can feel isolating, but talking can make a real difference. Peer support provides an opportunity to relate to others who’ve been through similar experiences. As Luke Newman puts it:
“Sometimes, just saying what’s on your mind can lift a weight you didn’t know you were carrying.”
The introduction of ‘For Men To Talk – Biggleswade: Good Morning’ reflects our ongoing commitment to providing accessible support for men.
