‘For Men To Talk’ at Ivel Valley Locality Networking Event

On Friday, 28th February, ‘For Men To Talk’ will be attending and having a stall at the Ivel Valley (East Mid Beds) Locality Networking Event. The event will take place from 8:30am to 11:00am in the Council Chambers, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, Bedfordshire, SG17 5TQ.
This event is a great opportunity to learn about the services, organisations, and support available to families in the local and wider area. It also allows professionals to network and share knowledge about mental health, well-being, and community support.
Many organisations will be present, including Carers in Bedfordshire, Bedfordshire Domestic Abuse Partnership, Impakt Housing and Support, Victim Support, and many more. Attendees will have the chance to speak with representatives, ask questions, and gain valuable insights into the support available in the region.
Why ‘For Men To Talk’ is Attending
‘For Men To Talk’ is a peer support group for men suffering from anxiety, depression, and grief. It provides a safe and comfortable environment where men can openly talk about their struggles with others who understand what they are going through.
Luke Newman, founder of ‘For Men To Talk,’ explains why events like this are important:
“It’s vital for men to know they are not alone in their mental health journey. Events like these help raise awareness and let men know that support is available. We encourage men to take that first step and start talking.”
What ‘For Men To Talk’ Offers
The group provides a variety of meeting options to suit different needs:
- Physical Meetings – In-person group discussions where men can share their experiences.
- Virtual Meetings – Online sessions for those who prefer to join remotely.
- Fishing Meetings – A relaxed outdoor setting where men can talk while enjoying fishing.
- Walking Meetings – Combining fresh air, gentle exercise, and conversation.
By attending this event, ‘For Men To Talk’ hopes to reach more men who may benefit from peer support and to connect with other organisations that can work together to support mental health in the community.
