General News, News & Events

On Tuesday, 25 February 2025, ‘For Men To Talk’ attended the ‘Support for Men’ event, hosted by Bedfordshire Mental Health Alliance at Meppershall Village Hall. This event brought together groups dedicated to improving men’s mental health, offering valuable opportunities for support, connection, and learning.

‘For Men To Talk’ founder Luke Newman was able to meet and have meaningful discussions with other groups making a difference:

  • X-4rce. Men’s Mental Health Group – Providing a much-needed service in Luton and Dunstable, X-4rce supports men aged 18+ with various mental health challenges.
  • MEET Bedford (Men, Exercise, Engage, Talk) – A group encouraging men to exercise together, engage in creative activities, and have open conversations in a relaxed setting.
  • Mens Monthly Club – Offering valuable one-on-one peer support for those who need a more personal approach.

These conversations highlighted the shared mission of providing safe spaces for men to talk about their struggles and find support from others who understand.

Luke Newman shared his thoughts on the event: “It was inspiring to connect with other groups working to support men’s mental health. Together, we can help more men feel comfortable opening up and getting the support they need.”

‘For Men To Talk’ continues to provide men suffering from anxiety, depression, and grief a place to talk openly with others who have been through similar experiences. The group offers various ways for men to connect, including physical and virtual meetings, as well as fishing and walking sessions.
