What’s Going On?

(A poem inspired by Marvin Gaye song titles)
In the Inner City Blues, I cry,
Searching for peace in the endless sky.
Through the darkness, I ask, What’s Going On?
Lost in my mind, trying to stay strong.
I’m yearning for Mercy Mercy Me,
Hoping one day, my soul will be free.
But sometimes, it’s hard to breathe,
With these heavy thoughts I can’t relieve.
So I sing out loud, How Sweet It Is,
The moments of love, the moments of bliss.
Yet when the night falls, I feel the weight,
Of emotions deep, I can’t escape.
I try to heal with Sexual Healing,
But the pain returns, it’s always revealing.
In my heart, I know I must be brave,
To face my fears, and let go of the grave.
I rise again with Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,
Pushing through when the road gets rough.
For in the end, I’ll find my way,
In the echo of Marvin’s songs, I’ll stay.
