‘For Men To Talk – Biggleswade (Good Morning)’ a huge success

Biggleswade, General News, Meetings

The first ‘For Men To Talk – Biggleswade (Good Morning)’ meeting at The BIGG Theatre was a huge success. Men from the local area gathered to talk openly about their mental health in a safe and supportive space. The morning session provides an opportunity for men suffering from anxiety, depression, or grief to share their thoughts with others who understand.

Founder Luke Newman expressed his gratitude for the positive start: “It was incredible to see so many men come together to support one another. The morning session gives another option for those who may not be able to attend in the evening. We look forward to welcoming more men in the future.”

The sessions will continue on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 10:30am at The BIGG Theatre.

A Community Arts Hub

The BIGG Theatre is a fantastic venue for this new session. Once a tired chain restaurant, it has been transformed into a dynamic arts destination. Located in the heart of Biggleswade, the venue offers a multi-format performance space, a modern coffee shop and bar, and a gallery wall showcasing local artists. Open five days a week, it serves specialty coffee, locally sourced cakes, and craft beers. The theatre also provides live entertainment, including theatre, cinema, live music, comedy, and dance.

Expanding Support for Men

‘For Men To Talk’ continues to grow, offering physical, virtual, fishing, and walking meetings in Biggleswade, Sandy, Potton, Gamlingay, Hitchin, and St. Neots, as well as in Stockport and Aldershot. These sessions provide vital peer support for men facing mental health challenges.

Alongside the new morning session, there is an important change to the evening group. From March 2025, ‘For Men To Talk – Biggleswade (Evening Session)’ will return to Jones’ Café Bar after two and a half years at The Crown Hotel (Wetherspoon). The session will now be held on the first and third Monday of every month.

The Importance of Local News

A huge thank you to The Biggleswade Chronicle for helping promote ‘For Men To Talk’ through an online and print press release. Local newspapers play a crucial role in spreading awareness about community events and ensuring people know where to find support. Their coverage helps men who may be struggling to take that first step towards getting help.

If you or someone you know could benefit from a supportive group of like-minded men, come along to a ‘For Men To Talk’ session. Whether it’s the new morning meeting at The BIGG Theatre or the evening session at Jones’ Café Bar, every conversation makes a difference.
