For Men To Talk – Shefford: A New Chapter Begins at Morrisons Community Room

General News, Meetings, News & Events, Shefford

For the past five months, the ‘For Men To Talk – Shefford’ group has been meeting at The Cornerstone Pub in Shefford. It has been a welcoming and supportive home where men have come together to talk about something that is often difficult to discuss: their mental health. The Cornerstone Pub has provided a safe space for conversations, emotions, laughter, and even some tears. For that, we are incredibly thankful.

From the moment we walked through their doors, the team at The Cornerstone Pub has shown support, kindness, and understanding. They gave us a place to grow. Men of different ages and backgrounds sat together, shared their feelings, and supported one another. It shows that when a community opens its doors, meaningful change can happen inside.

Now, we are moving on to a new chapter.

We are excited to announce that ‘For Men To Talk – Shefford’ will be relocating to the Community Room at the Morrisons supermarket in Shefford. Morrisons recently approached us and offered the use of their community space, and we felt it was a positive step forward for the group. The Community Room is bright, private, and easily accessible. It gives us the opportunity to welcome even more men who may benefit from talking openly and honestly about how they are feeling.

Meetings at the new location will continue twice a month. Our evening meeting will take place on the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 6pm. Our afternoon meeting will take place on the fourth Wednesday of every month, starting at 12pm. This timetable stays familiar and consistent, because consistency helps build trust. We want every man attending to know that there will always be a place for him, no matter what he is going through.

The heart of ‘For Men To Talk’ has always been about encouraging men to speak. Too often, men feel pressure to stay silent when they are struggling. They may believe they have to be strong and handle everything on their own. This group challenges that idea. It reminds each person that talking is not a weakness. It is a strength.

Luke Newman, founder of ‘For Men To Talk’, shared his thoughts on the move. He said, “We are incredibly grateful to The Cornerstone Pub for giving us a home for the past five months. They helped create a space where men felt safe to talk. Moving to Morrisons Community Room will help us continue to grow and reach even more men who need support.”

Luke’s words say it perfectly. Our gratitude to The Cornerstone Pub will remain. They were there when we needed a home, and they supported our mission without hesitation. We will never forget that.

As we move into the Morrisons Community Room, we feel hopeful. We look forward to welcoming new faces, continuing important conversations, and showing men that they do not have to face difficult times alone.

‘For Men To Talk – Shefford’ is still here. Still listening. Still supporting. And now, starting a new chapter.
