Why You Should Consider the Jones Fitness 10-Week Transformation Challenge

By Luke Newman, Founder & CEO of ‘For Men To Talk’
As men, we are often told to “just get on with it.” When our mental health dips, we hide it. When our bodies slow down, we make excuses. I did exactly that for years, until a health scare forced me to stop and think.
That is why I joined the Jones Fitness 10-Week Transformation Challenge in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. And it is why I believe other men should consider it too.
At ‘For Men To Talk’, we speak about the four pillars of good mental health. They are simple, but powerful: nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and stress management. When one of these slips, the rest soon follow. This challenge supports all four, not in a complicated way, but in a way real people can stick to.
Training that fits real life
This is not a military boot camp. The training plan is built for everyday people. The sessions are structured, progressive, and beginner-friendly. You do not need to be fit to start. You just need to start.
You are not left to figure it out alone either. There is coaching and accountability built into the programme, with regular check-ins so you stay on track even when motivation dips. And trust me, it does dip sometimes.
Nutrition made simple
One of the biggest causes of stress for men is food. We know we need to eat better, but we do not know where to start. This challenge makes nutrition simple. You are given clear targets and habits that you can actually follow. It is not about being perfect. It is about being consistent.
A community, not just a gym
This is where Jones Fitness really stands out. You train alongside people on the same journey. You share wins, struggles, and laughs. Friendships form. It stops being “I should go to the gym” and becomes “I want to go to the gym.”
Tracking progress properly
Your progress is tracked every week. Not just your weight, but key health markers. This means you see real change, even when the scales do not move. That is a huge boost to mental health and confidence.
What happens when you sign up
People worry it will be too hard or too confusing. It is not.
You start with an in-person prep session where you meet Jo and the other 10-weekers. You get a simple app that holds your workouts, nutrition advice, and lets you contact Jo directly. You also get a one-to-one personal training session so you know exactly what to do, plus unlimited gym access and coached classes throughout the day.
Each week is clear and simple. You train with easy-to-follow workouts. You get support from Jo and the Jones Fitness team. You focus on one small nutrition habit at a time.
Why I joined
I had wake-up call. In August 2025, I had a basal cell carcinoma removed from my temple. Thankfully, it was fully excised. I also played football for 20 years but stopped after a serious knee injury. I had an excuse for not exercising anymore. After speaking to Aiden and a previous member, I decided to give it a go.
What I enjoy most is not just getting fitter, but learning about food and building friendships. This is not just a gym. It is a community.
The results at the end of the challenge surprised me. When I stepped on the scale, I was disappointed — only 9 lbs down. But then I checked my measurements:
- 3.5 inches off my waist
- Lean Body Mass up by 10.4 lbs
- Fat Mass down by 20.1 lbs
- Body Fat down by 9.8%
Suddenly it made sense. I hadn’t just lost weight — I’d changed my body. I felt better mentally and physically. My focus improved, stairs felt easier, and even my bad knee felt stronger.
To any man thinking about joining, my message is simple. Please do. Do not be scared. There are people here to guide you. Not just the trainers, but the man next to you in the class.
Sometimes, taking that first step is the best thing you can do for your mental health.
