Call the Shots

(A poem inspired by Girls Aloud song titles)
In the Sound of the Underground,
I wander through my thoughts,
Something New is calling,
Yet I’ll Stand By You, no matter the cost.
Behind a Biology of strength,
There’s a Love Machine in disguise,
The Promise I make to myself,
To face the storm, to rise.
Sometimes I feel like I’ll Jump,
But Every Now and Then, I fall,
Yet I learn to See the Day,
To catch my breath, to stand tall.
In a world where I’m told to Wake Up,
To hide the tears, play the role,
But Can’t Speak French,
When I’m losing hold of my soul.
So I Live in a Dream,
Where vulnerability shines bright,
Embracing the Whole Lotta History,
In the silence of the night.
Something Kinda Ooooh,
That I feel deep within,
Let’s break the chains of the past,
Let the healing begin.
Call the Shots,
I’ll choose my way,
In the battle for balance,
I won’t fade away.
So here’s to all the brothers,
Let’s Get Ready to thrive,
In this journey of strength,
We’re learning to survive.
