‘For Men To Talk’ Receives £3,333 Boost from Co-op Community Support

‘For Men To Talk’ is delighted to share some fantastic news that will make a real difference to men and communities locally.
Thanks to a winning National Lottery ticket sold at the Co-op store on Church Street in Gamlingay, ‘For Men To Talk’ has been selected as a local cause to receive an additional £3,333.00. Through a partnership with National Lottery operator Allwyn, Co-op is able to share this success with local community groups, and we are incredibly grateful to be one of them.
This £3,333 funding boost will help ‘For Men To Talk’ continue its mission of supporting men who are living with mental health illnesses such as anxiety, depression and grief. The peer support group offers a safe and comfortable environment where men can talk openly, without pressure, rules or judgement. There is no registration or referral needed, and men can share as much or as little as they like.
‘For Men To Talk’ offers a wide range of ways for men to connect, including physical meetings, virtual sessions, walking groups, fishing meet-ups and social activities. This flexibility helps ensure that more men can access support in a way that suits them, reducing isolation and encouraging honest conversations around mental health.
Luke Newman, founder of ‘For Men To Talk’, said: “Receiving this £3,333 is amazing news for us. Every pound helps us reach more men, continue to offer sessions, and remind people that they are not alone. We’re incredibly thankful to Co-op, Allwyn, and the local community for supporting mental health in such a meaningful way.”
This funding also shines a light on the wider impact of the Co-op Local Community Fund. Since the beginning of October 2025, ‘For Men To Talk’ has been available for Co-op Members to select as their chosen local cause. The more Co-op Members who choose to support ‘For Men To Talk’, the more funding the group will receive at the end of the current funding round.
The Co-op Local Community Fund supports projects across the UK that members truly care about. Each year, Co-op works in partnership with thousands of local causes to help them raise as much money as possible. Since 2016, Co-op has shared more than £108 million with nearly 40,000 unique community projects across the UK. It’s a powerful example of Co-op’s commitment to putting profits back where they belong – into local communities.
As a Co-op Member and owner, individuals can choose a cause that’s close to their heart and help it receive a share of the Local Community Fund, simply through their everyday shopping.
