Staring at the wall

(A poem inspired by Pink Floyd song titles)

Brain Damage on the Dark Side of the Moon
Time keeps slipping through my hands,
I wander in this Echoes of the past, where Wish You Were Here isn’t just for those we’ve lost,
But for the parts of me that have faded.

Staring at The Wall I’ve built around myself,
Hiding in the Comfortably Numb silence,
Welcome to the Machine, they say,
But no one sees the cracks that deepen day by day.

In this Us and Them world, I fight to stand tall,
Yet the weight of High Hopes can make me fall.
The voices whisper, Is There Anybody Out There?
While I’m lost in A Momentary Lapse of Reason,
Wishing for a breath of freedom, a life beyond this prison.

Still, there’s Fearless hope in the dark,
A Shine On You Crazy Diamond spark—
Maybe, just maybe, there’s a way
To break free from The Final Cut someday.
