Millbrook Golf Club raises £500 for ‘For Men To Talk’

Millbrook Golf Club, located in the stunning Bedfordshire countryside between Woburn and the historic town of Ampthill, has proudly raised £500 for the local mental health charity, ‘For Men To Talk’.
The club’s scenic course is surrounded by native pine and silver birch trees on thirteen of its eighteen holes. The other five holes feature wild fescue grasses and gorse bushes. Its ‘links style’ pot bunkers and sandy, free-draining Greensand Ridge soil make it a favourite among golfers.
The £500 donation will help support the vital work of ‘For Men To Talk’, a peer support group for men struggling with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and grief. The group provides a safe and welcoming space where men can talk openly—whether in person, online, while walking, or even fishing.
These sessions allow men to discuss different parts of their lives, including jobs, family, stress, and anything else they want to share. There is no pressure—men can say as much or as little as they like. There are no rules, referrals, or sign-ups. Just honest conversations.
The money raised by Millbrook Golf Club will support meetings in several local towns, including Ampthill, Biggleswade, Potton, Shefford, Flitwick, St Neots, Gamlingay, Sandy, and Hitchin. The charity also runs sessions in Stockport, Cheshire.
There is also a special group called ‘For Men To Talk about Autism’. This meeting is designed for autistic men, men with autistic family members, or those waiting for an autism diagnosis. It offers an inclusive and understanding place for men to talk about their experiences with autism.
Luke Newman, founder of the charity, said: “We’re incredibly thankful for the support from Millbrook Golf Club. Every penny helps us continue offering safe spaces for men to speak and be heard without judgement.”
