‘For Men To Talk…and Fish’ Returns for 2026

‘’For Men To Talk’…and Fish’ is back for the 2026 season and will once again give men the chance to spend time together, enjoy fishing and form friendships in a relaxed setting. For 2026, the fishing sessions now sit under the ‘For Men To Talk’ Social Club umbrella, which is part of the wider ‘For Men To Talk’ brand.
The Social Club is clear in its purpose. It is about time together, not tough conversations, and it is separate from the mental health peer support groups also offered by ‘For Men To Talk’. These fishing sessions are designed to help men switch off from everyday pressures, enjoy the outdoors and connect naturally with others.
The events take place at Manor Farm Lakes in Lower Caldecote (between Sandy and Biggleswade). Each session is supported by a fully qualified facilitator and Level 2 angling coach with over 30 years of angling experience. All fishing tackle, bait and equipment are provided, and a rod licence is included for the session. This means beginners are very welcome, with no previous fishing experience needed.
Each meeting is limited to a maximum of eight men, helping to keep the group small, calm and friendly. ‘For Men To Talk’ asks for a non-refundable contribution of £5 per meeting. In 2026, there will be twelve fishing meetings, starting on Saturday 14 March 2026 at 1pm.
Fishing can bring many benefits for men. Being near water is known to help reduce stress and promote calm. Fishing encourages patience, focus and mindfulness, helping men slow down and take a break from worries. It also creates easy, pressure-free conversation. Men can talk while fishing, or simply enjoy the quiet together. This balance often makes it easier to connect with others without feeling forced.
Luke Newman, CEO and founder of ‘For Men To Talk’, said: “’For Men To Talk’…and Fish is about giving men space to breathe. You don’t have to open up, you don’t have to explain yourself. You just turn up, fish, and spend time with other men. Often, that’s exactly what’s needed.”
For the last six years, ‘For Men To Talk’ has offered physical, virtual, walking and fishing meetings. Alongside this, the ‘For Men To Talk’ Social Club also arranges monthly social trips, including visits to restaurants, cinemas and comedy clubs. These activities help men who may feel isolated, forgotten or invisible. Many men feel stuck at home and believe everyone else has a life but them.
The Social Club helps break that cycle by giving men something to look forward to. It can rebuild routine, structure and purpose, especially after retirement, divorce, redundancy or illness. Over time, it helps men reconnect with a sense of belonging and social identity.
Alongside the Social Club, ‘For Men To Talk’ also runs peer support groups for men living with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and grief. These groups offer a safe and comfortable space where men can talk openly, with no rules, no pressure and no referrals required.
