Forward Gamlingay! Supports ‘For Men To Talk’ with £600 Donation

‘For Men To Talk’ would like to say a huge thank you to Forward Gamlingay! for their generous donation of £600.This support will help us continue providing vital peer support services for men experiencing mental health challenges across our local communities.
‘For Men To Talk’ has been running in Gamlingay since February 2023, offering a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where men can talk openly about their mental health. Since launching in the village, many men have attended meetings to share experiences, listen to others and realise they are not alone.
As a Community Interest Company (CIC), ‘For Men To Talk’ exists to benefit the communities it serves. CICs are limited companies that operate for community benefit rather than private profit. Every pound received through grants and donations is invested back into delivering services and supporting men who need help.
Unlike many organisations, ‘For Men To Talk’ relies heavily on grants, fundraising and donations to continue its work. Support from organisations such as Forward Gamlingay! is therefore incredibly important and helps ensure that services remain accessible to those who need them most.
Today, ‘For Men To Talk’ provides support across several counties, helping men from a wide range of backgrounds. The organisation continues to grow in response to increasing demand for mental health support and opportunities for men to connect with others.
‘For Men To Talk’ is a peer support group for men who are living with mental health illnesses such as anxiety, depression and grief. Meetings provide a safe and comfortable environment where men can talk openly without fear of judgement.
Conversations often cover many aspects of a man’s life, including work pressures, relationships, family life, anxiety, stress and personal challenges. There are no rules or regulations, no registration process, no referral requirements and no cost to attend. Men can speak as much or as little as they wish.
The organisation offers a variety of ways for men to connect, including physical meetings, virtual meetings, walking groups, fishing sessions and social events. This flexibility helps ensure that men can find a format that feels comfortable for them.
‘For Men To Talk’ also delivers ‘For Men To Talk about Autism’, a dedicated group for autistic men, men with autistic family members, and those who are waiting for an autism diagnosis. The group provides a safe and inclusive space where people can share experiences, gain support and connect with others who understand their journey.
The organisation is also preparing to launch the ‘For Men To Talk Shed’ in Stotfold. This exciting new project will provide a hands-on, creative workshop environment where men can take part in practical activities, build confidence, learn new skills and strengthen community connections.
Luke Newman, CEO and Founder of ‘For Men To Talk’, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Forward Gamlingay! for their generous donation. As a Community Interest Company, we rely on grants and donations to continue supporting men across our communities. This contribution will help us continue providing safe spaces where men can talk, connect and support one another.”
