Three years of ‘For Men To Talk’ virtual meetings

General News

On 25 March 2023, it marked the three year anniversary of the ‘For Men To Talk’ virtual meetings.

It’s hard to believe how much it has now became a part of our daily lives. In March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to adapt to a new way of working and communicating. As we mark this milestone, it’s important to reflect on how far we’ve come and celebrate the benefits that virtual meetings have brought us.

Firstly, virtual meetings have allowed us to stay connected in ways we never thought possible. We can now communicate with people from all over the world without having to leave our homes or offices, which we do in our ‘For Men To Talk’ meetings. This has opened up new opportunities for collaborations and presentations, such as ‘The Paul Lavelle Foundation’ and ‘Prostate Cancer UK’.

Virtual meetings have also made our lives more convenient. For business, we no longer have to spend hours travelling to and from meetings, which has saved us time and money. Instead, we can simply log in from our laptops or smartphones and join our meeting from wherever we are. This has made it easier for us to balance work and personal commitments, and has given us more flexibility in our daily lives.

Another benefit of virtual meetings is that they have helped us to reduce our carbon footprint. By eliminating the need for travel, we are able to reduce our impact on the environment. This is particularly important given the current climate crisis, and virtual meetings have provided us with a way to continue working and communicating without contributing to the problem.

Of course, there have been challenges along the way. Technical issues, such as poor internet connections and glitchy software, have been frustrating at times. And there’s no denying that virtual meetings lack some of the human connection and interaction that we get from our in-person meetings in Biggleswade, St.Neots, Gamlingay and Sandy.

However, since 25 March 2022, we have held virtual meetings every Wednesday and 156 meetings later, we are going from strength to strength.
